We know that Calgary communities are growing increasingly concerned with the
announcement of local cases of COVID-19. Alberta Health Services (AHS) is actively
monitoring the situation and leading the response in Alberta. The LBCA is
following the direction of AHS and will continue to respond with their
To help prevent respiratory illness, including flu and COVID-19, from spreading:
• LBCA Operations and Custodial staff have increased cleaning and disinfecting
protocols on high touch points (ex. doorknobs, countertops, etc.)
throughout the LBCA facility.
• LBCA users, staff, program participants and spectators are encouraged to
follow AHS recommendations:
o Wash your hands often and well
o Avoid touching your face, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
o Avoid contact with people who are sick
o Avoid or replace handshakes with fist bump or elbow tap.
o When sick, cover your cough and sneezes and then wash your hands.
o Stay home if you or a family member is sick
• If you or a family member have symptoms such as fever, cough and difficulty
breathing, have travelled outside of Canada or been exposed to some who
has COVID-19, stay home and call 811
